The fire moves on. Between roads 1270 and 1298, on the west side of the Metolius River, just south of Lower Bridge, crews grid the region (walking in lines sweeping across an area, pausing to gang up on small fires still burning near potential fuel). Later, crews will come through with handheld infrared detectors to identify fire still underground for further elimination.
