Robbie Laws & Jim Miller
Robbie Laws started playing the Guitar in his twenties. His interest in guitar was intense, fueled with a relentless desire. This self taught Axman studied a variety of styles and emerged a true master of the genre he so dearly loves. In 1978 a chance meeting with the great Albert Collins turned out to be the defining moment of Robbie's career. He jammed and played with the Iceman for more than a week and when the smoke cleared, Robbie came away with the stimulus that to this day provides Laws with the ability to play from the heart and soul. He has a crystal clear tone, lightning fast fingers and an intricate style that is subtly enticing. He has been voted the best electric blues guitarist in the Northwest the past 3 years and you have to wonder why we haven't heard from him before this. He played with bassist Jim Miller at the festival.
