Natalie MacMaster
Fiddle virtuoso Natalie MacMaster was one of the most exciting performers to ever grace our Main Stage. Natalie and her four-piece band brought the house down with the traditional sounds of Cape Breton Island echoing throughout the Cascade Mountains. Her newest record, Blueprint, couples the talents of Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush and Bela Fleck with the traditional fiddling style of Cape Breton Island, and has been nominated for a Juno (Canada's equivalent of a Grammy) for Best Instrumental Album of the Year. With Blueprint, MacMaster is once again pushing the boundaries for traditional music, fusing her brilliant fiddling with the sounds of banjo, dobro and mandolin. MacMaster performs on stages throughout the world, from the Boston Pops to Merle Fest, and we were fortunate to have her perform in Central Oregon at the Sisters Folk Festival.
