Tom Russell and Andrew Hardin
Legendary songwriter and performer Tom Russell will return to the Festival to perform with ace guitarist Andrew Hardin, offering his original and powerful vision of the American West of myth, history and contemporary life. Russell has written or co-written classics such as Navajo Rug, Recorded by Ian Tyson and Outbound Plane, recorded by Nanci Griffith and by Suzy Bogguss. His most recent CDs, Modern Art and the western folk recording Cowboys Indians Horses and Dogs show the range of his songwriting, painting portraits ranging from a poignant tribute to Mickey Mantle to the recollections of an old outlaw who once trailed Pancho Villa.
