Waterfalls
Waterways are the arteries of the land; there are many in Iceland. And over the young basalt, it can't help but spill again and again over sharp cliffs. Huge, thunderous, and we weren't even there for the big spring runoffs. Hraunfossar, Skogarfoss, Gullfoss, and more ("foss" was one Icelandic word we could pronounce and remember -- waterfall.)
